Why AGI?
What's Different?
There needs to be change in SWLA and we are going to lead the way. Calcasieu parish is the worst parish in the state for crashes and crash-related fatalities per capita. At AGI, our mission is to improve those numbers. We use cutting-edge technology for the most realistic, hands-on training a student can get and our fleet has the most advanced, in-vehicle technology, for crash avoidance. Our primary goal is to keep our new drivers as safe as we can while learning to master the road.
The minimum age to start is 14 years and 9 months. Students 17 and under will take the 38-hour course and 18 and up take the 14-hour class. We offer multiple levels of training so that each student gets the amount of instruction they need to become a safe driver.
If you're on a waiting list for your Behind-the-Wheel driving portion after taking the 30-hour classroom course with another school, you can take your 8-hourss of BTW driving with us. All you need is your TIP and your Certificate of Completion of the 30 hours from the other school.
Some students can take there Behind-the-Wheel Road Skills Test when they are 16 years old and some when they are 17. There are specifics requirements for being able to get your Learner's Permit, such as having to wait 180 days or until you turn 17 years old.
Want to do more than the state minimum requirement for your behind the wheel training? Hone your driving skills with additional lessons to work on some of the more difficult areas of driving and learn implement advanced parking techniques.
